On the strength of this image taken as part of my 'March 2011' project, Jordan and I planned another shoot this time with a famous and more striking back drop.
Living in mid kent the option to go to London was an easy starting place and I chose Greenwhich as I knew this had great views of Canary Wharf from across the river and the O2. I also knew parts of the area would be quite quiet making it an easy working environment.
The more I photograph the more I learn and the more I get into my own routine. When shooting portraits especially at night I always work on the back ground first then place the model then add the light (flash). I don't know if this would be classed as technically correct but this works for me, and gives me good results.
We started our session on the river front next to the University of Greenwich shooting east so that the O2 area (Millennium Dome) would be the backdrop.
Later we moved to north Greenwich right next to the dome, knowing this would be the place to capture the Canary Wharf area with its tall towers of vibrant evening light.
Big thanks to Jordan Bannon for being my model for the evening.
