There are always aspects of my photography that I wish to explore, develop & be more creative with. This isn't always possible to do on a 'real' shoot such as a wedding, so I spend good amount of time working on my skills at social or public events. May bank holiday weekend is one of my favourite times of year, there is always something to see, do or visit that you may not be able to see any other time of the year. I am lucky enough to live quite close to the historic cathedral city of Rochester (where I studied at KIAD/UCA) where each year it hosts the Sweeps Festival, a colourful festival with music & dancing to celebrate the chimney sweep's annual holiday.
My photographic aim was to capture parts of the festival in a photojournalistic style with a emphasis on busy backgrounds with depth as well as details of the day. Here are a few of my favourites, enjoy...
