In the not too distant past, when I first developed an interest in shooting weddings for a living, I embarked upon a crazed internet hunt for inspiration. My main goal was to find images that stood out, were a break from the norm and had flare and style. Once this search had commenced it wasn't long before I was drawn to the work of Steve Gerrard Photography, as well as having all of the above I was also sucked in by his beautiful saturation, contrast and texture.
When I first saw that Steve ran his own workshops I knew that I wanted to be a part of it, to see how he works with a couple and the surroundings he has. I was keen to listen to his ideas and how he makes his business flow successful. I have not been able to attend the last few workshops for one reason or another, but when it came to the 18th Sept I knew I was able to clear my diary for the day and be there! It has only been a few days since the workshop and I have already made small changes to my website, tweaked the way I approach my wedding portraiture and made alterations to how I work with my own clients which I'm sure will make Dan Potter Photography a even better experience for all involved.
I hope you enjoy my images from the workshop >>>
Finally a few 'thank yous' to our models for the day Ria and Anthony (a real couple - see their wedding here), the other 11 photographers on the workshop who added to the experience and finally Steve Gerrard - it was great to meet the man behind the photos who shared so much with us all, cheers Steve!
Hello & welcome to the blog! Feel free to have a nose around & leave a comment or two, I hope you enjoy what you see! Dan
